Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a leading global professional services firm, has launched a new National Security, Trade and Technology (NSTT) practice within its Disputes and Investigations (DI) group. The NSTT practice, led by Managing Directors Randall Cook and Vincent Mekles in New York and Senior Director Rachel Woloszynski in San Francisco, will assist clients in navigating the increasingly complex national security, regulatory, and operational risks that impact investment, trade, and technology sectors. This expansion responds to growing geopolitical tensions, technology convergence, and economic instability, which require enhanced risk management strategies. Leveraging a team of former regulators, industry experts, and compliance professionals, NSTT will focus on areas including data security, foreign investment controls, cyber risk, international trade sanctions, and supply chain management.
The NSTT team will provide integrated solutions, such as regulatory investigations, risk assessments, and compliance program enhancements. This initiative builds on A&M’s expertise across other areas, including Global Cyber Risk, Aerospace, Defense, and Supply Chain Services. Cook and Mekles bring extensive experience in regulatory compliance and oversight, while Woloszynski contributes her background in ITAR and CFIUS compliance. A&M, founded in 1983, remains privately held, with over 10,000 professionals globally. Known for actionable, practical solutions, A&M’s expertise in complex challenges supports businesses, investors, and government agencies worldwide.
